A confession before absolution this Maundy Thursday

Here it is. The deep dark secret from the heart of Chris Halverson…..
Drumroll please.

I empathize with George W Bush. Yes, that’s right, all during the elections I could see myself in George’s shoes. Honestly, I’d have way different policies than the President, but I’d govern about the same. I’d have big grandiose ideas and delegate them into reality. Also while I kill at the stump I would have felt more comforted with a radio feeding me lines while debating, because, as anyone who’s seen me in an Lincoln Douglas round knows, I debate to have fun, not to win. I’m an orator, not a debater, and for that reason I have to give some creds where creds are do. George Bush gives hope for all of us big idea, bad debaters.

There, now that that’s out of my system I can put my Jimmy Carter T-shirt back on, and wear it with pride.
The Lord’s Peace,
Chris

Hi there, Chris, this comment is completely off-topic from your post but I'm needing some help. My name is Layne Anderson, I'm a junior at Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouver, Washington, right across the river from Portland. I was looking up math in Lutheran theology for a midterm paper and for some reason came across your blog, and I as well am getting ready to study to be a Lutheran pastor.
Now, what I'm leaving this comment for is that I'm wondering if you could help me out. I have to write a midterm paper for geometry (yes, for some reason we have to write in geometry :) ) and this paper is on a career I want to go into (Lutheran pastor) and how math fits into this career. I was wondering if you could give me thoughts on this, specifically how math fits into the Old Testament.
If you could e-mail me at misspennylayne@gmail.com, or if you have AOL Instant Messenger, I'm on tweakthenorm, I'd really appreciate it. If you'd rather not, I understand, but thanks for reading this incredibly long post anyway. :)
Thanks,
Layne
