Cover: Scripture and Race

Just a quick update. Tonight I will be doing the second half of my two part series about the spiritual implications of being on the DL. Last week we talked about the breadth of the sexuality statement and its grounding principles, especially about building and protecting trust in relationships—and how those principles were, or were not, being valued in the movie Cover, and in DL relationships. Then we talked about homosexuality, what the ELCA has to say about it and what that means for people on the DL.
Tonight we are going to look at scripture, what it is, and what it says about homoeroticism. Then we are going to talk about race, specifically about why being on the DL is mainly an African American thing.
At some point I’m going to do a full post about the whole DL thing.
Peace,
Chris
