Wedding

I was at a friend's wedding today. I had never realized wedding services could be so short. 15 minutes and they were done. After that we went to her husband's parent's house for the reception. Good fun. I caught the garder... watch out women of the world.

The Control Room

My good friend Kevin recently invited me to watch him in action. He works as a director at Kval, the CBS TV station in Eugene. It was amazing! Everything is timed out to a second and all the different graphics that appear on the TV are done live. They even know how fast the various reports read from their teleprompter! Kevin was in control, giving cues into microphones, switching all kinds of knobs, and being in control in general. It was neat to look behind the curtain ala Oz.
