Good job Bush!
Yes, you heard me, the President did something pretty darn good. In his budget proposal he gives 300 million bucks toward peacekeeping in Darfur. Send the man a thank you note! In other news the latest Foundation article is up. Peace, Chris
What, is Chris Halverson typically a liberal leftist? Heh, you know that doesn't sit too well with most Christians over on this side of the ocean, as the alternative is supporting very un-Christ-like stances on abortion, freedom of faith expression in schools, among other things.
The Lord has matured me in this area very recently; I used to be an ardent Republican, right-wing conservative Christian. Now I'm a just a believer in Christ that will cast his vote for any righteous man, regardless of political affiliation. I've also learned to put my trust in only one Person, and that person is not involved in politics at this time. :) I've also learned not to get caught up in political debates and arguments, which are often so focused on humanistic topics and waged by godless people on both ends, by opponents that are firmly entrenched in political persuasions, there is really nothing to be gained taking part in such arguments.
So I'm curious, Chris, if you are typically against Bush, are opposed to Blair's policies as well? If so, what alternative do you support?
Chris Halverson is typically a moderate leftist, but not typical (why’m I talking in the 3rd person?). I’m not exactly party line on abortion and gun rights. Since coming to England my opinion of Blair has fallen sharply. He’s sort of the worst of both Bush and Clinton. He’s anti-civil liberties (I would say much more than Bush) and pro-war (less than Bush) like Bush, but he’s a politician first and foremost like Clinton, meaning he tends to do things that are popular, not necessarily right (this is my impression anyway). On the plus side I think he is better than either of them when it comes to 3rd world debt relief. In ’04 I supported Kerry, though I think Clark would maybe have made a better president, I was too young to vote for McCain or Gore in ’00, but I would have had I been given half a chance (I really disliked the way Bush portrayed McCain as anti-military, anti-breast cancer research when in fact he is a millitary hero and his sister had breast cancer). Not sure who I’ll support when I get back to the states, depends who’s running. Hegal or Richardson seem like good possible candidates. Of course there is also Warner or McCain. Then again maybe my boy Freudenthal (Wy) will throw his hat in the ring by then (yeah, I know he won’t, but wouldn’t it be cool?) Peace, Chris PS I laud your position, that said I do feel God/Yshua is involved in politics at least in so far as choosing candidates etc. is a moral choice and God is involved in morals. Still being a complete partisan in anything short of absolute truth might not be the best of plans.
I should clarify. I'm a 22 year old from the states (Wyoming/Oregon) who's doing a year of missionary service in England. Yeah, I'm a young-in. Peace, Chris

Interesting.
So I'm a little confused; you said you casted your vote for Kerry...aren't you a British citizen? Dual citizenship then?
By the way, how old are you? I was picturing you being in your 30s or so, but then you said you were too young to vote in 2000.
