NPR evangelism

Well this week is apparently pledge week at NPR. The way the announcer was selling NPR it sounded like a religion. At one point he encouraged people to send money if they, "believed in the insight that NPR brings each day." He talked about how it is an important part of a person's daily existence and it helps people in essence know right from wrong. Seemed odd to me.
