What does it say about the Church (speaking of the whole Church) that of all the things that rile up Christians, this is scarcely on the map?
You know -- you've given me a sudden inspiration. I take part in some discussion groups elsewhere on the Internet. I think that, as part of my Lenten journey, whenever I encounter some Real Christian [tm] getting his or her panties in a knot about The Usual Hot-Button Issues, I am going to post a link to this or other websites involving life-and-death issues, and challenge them to remove their heads from dark places and instead channel their energies into works of justice and mercy that actually mean something.
Hopefully such a Lenten discipline doesn't end up being a put down kind of thing, where you try and define yourself as "True Christian" above and beyond the petty moralisms of "Real Christians." That said if you can can explain life and death issues in a gracefilled way its a great discipline for Lent, might even save a few people's lives! Peace, Chris

Thanks! Sounds like a plan.
